Ordering meals

Our menus are ever-changing and are posted weekly on Tuesday evenings. Ordering can be done online and needs to be submitted by Friday. After receiving your order, we source the ingredients from local markets and prepare the meals on Sunday. Delivery takes place on Sunday evening, and pickups are available on Monday.

The weekly menu is posted on our website on Tuesday evenings. You can also sign up for our newsletter to receive the menu via email. Along with joining the Facebook page @fitforpurpose

Orders can be placed online through our website. Simply select the meals you would like to order, add them to your cart, and complete the checkout process.

We do not have a minimum order requirement.

These are based on information from the growers form week to week – although we always bring back the favourites

Our meals can be frozen or eaten fresh within 5 days, providing they stay under 4 degrees and are refrigerated the entire time.

Once frozen we recommend no more than 6 months of frozen storage

Plans

Yes, you can cancel your plan at any time. There is no locked in contract and you will not be charged after cancelling your plan. To cancel your plan, log into your account and go to Subscriptions, then click Cancel.

If you’re going away and don’t need the meals over a certain period, you can suspend your plan. To suspend your plan, log into your account and go to Subscriptions, then click Suspend. Remember to reactivate your plan once you get back! To do this, login, go to Subscriptions and click Reactivate.

Delivery

Yes, you can cancel your plan at any time. There is no locked in contract and you will not be charged after cancelling your plan. Just give us 7 days’ notice by contacting our customer support team via email, phone or chat.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we will do our best to accommodate you if you are late or miss the pick-up time. We ask that you please let us know as soon as possible by phone or email, and we will work with you to arrange an alternate pick-up time or location. As we are a local company and located in the town, we are always just a phone call away and will do our best to help you out.

Yes we deliver around Whangarei city (check map on the How it Works page) for the flat rate of $12! Deliveries will arrive Sunday night.

Portion sizes

Our portion sizes are aimed at providing 200 Gm of raw meat per portion, which is balanced with healthy fats and Low GI carbohydrates. Each meal contains around 400 calories.

Unfortunately, we do not offer customization of portion sizes at this time. However, you can select the snack pack meal size which is made for a kid or an afternoon snack. Along with extra protein meat.

The type of meat included in the 200 Gm portion size may vary depending on the meal you choose. We offer a variety of meat options, including chicken, beef, and vegetarian options.

Our portion sizes are designed to provide a balanced diet with around 400 calories per meal. Depending on your individual needs, our meals can help you lose weight loss or gain weight with added products.

Balanced Diet

For a meat-based meal, there will be around 30 to 50gm of pure protein per serving. For vegetarian meals, the protein content will be between 5 and 20gm per serving.

A balanced meal should consist of a combination of low GI carbohydrates, good fats, and protein. The amount of each component may vary depending on your individual needs and activity level.

Low GI (glycemic index) carbohydrates are carbohydrates that are digested and absorbed slowly, resulting in a gradual rise in blood sugar levels. Examples include whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables.

Good fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease and improve overall health. Examples include olive oil, nuts, seeds, fatty fish, and avocados.

Protein sources can include animal products such as meat, poultry, fish, and eggs, as well as vegetarian sources such as legumes, nuts, seeds, and tofu.

Some of our meals do, although when we use it we always aim to use whole ingredients such as Buckwheat, barley, wholemeal products etc, we advise week to week what may contain it and we always have at least one or two meals gluten free.
